Talent Development Squads
The Bowls New Zealand Talent Development Squads are up and running again for the 2009/10 season. After a very successful inaugural season last year only minor adjustments have been made for this season. The biggest change has seen the number of squads reduced from five to four. The new squads recently held there first camps of the season under the guidance of coaches Ann Muir, Janice McKenna, Graeme Rees, and Terry Scott.
National Coach Dave Edwards said the squads proved to be very successful in there first year last year, and can see the concept going from strength to strength. "You only had to look at the success achieved by some of the squad members on the greens last season for us to be very happy with how things panned out in the first season for these squads. We truly believe this concept is going to assist greatly in building depth at the top level of the sport".
