The Hyundai National Open Championships are the prestigious event of the year, pitting bowler against bowler as they compete for top honours and a national title. The Championships lasts 13 days and see’s New Zealand’s everyday bowlers given the opportunity to test their skills against top bowling Black Jacks. This is the national flagship event of bowls in New Zealand with its long history in bringing bowlers together to enjoy the game.

The Championships offers opportunities to all those who enter, whether you are seeking national glory or lifelong friendship. The friendships which are formed during this tournament are renewed annually as friends once again take the green together and establish a camaraderie which is a major attraction in returning to the championships every year. And if it is national glory which you are after this is the championships to do it! While winning a national title does not mean automatic entry into a national squad it certainly brings the person into consideration.
