Bowls New Zealand National Club Championships

Bowls New Zealand has 27 Centres registered throughout the country and these Centres are in turn divided into six Competitive Playing Regions/Zones.

The Bowls New Zealand National Club Championship Singles, Pairs, Triples and Fours for men and women are Tournaments that begin at Centre level throughout the country, with winners in all disciplines progressing as Centre winners through to Regional/Zone Playoffs which are usually played on the same weekend nationally (enabling maximum media exposure and sponsorship opportunities) and in most cases a different Centre each Season.

The Centre’s shall decide the venue of the tournaments in each Season and the Regional Service Centres and Bowls New Zealand shall be notified by 31st October in each season.

To be eligible to take part in the Regional/Zone Playoffs all players in team events must be members of the one club (refer to the Bowls New Zealand Regulations included with this document) which prevents “stacked” teams and enables the average club bowler the opportunity to progress through to contest a national title. The Regional/Zone Playoffs culminate in one player/team progressing to the National Finals which are usually played in Rotorua toward the end of the season.

After progressing through to the National Finals the representatives play a round robin competition over 2 days to determine who will win the national title in that particular discipline.
